The story of a life that naturally leads to an old age and that respect for old age is part of a good life.

On a clearing in a forest, old animals thrown out of their homes meet: the Donkey –– because he had no more strength to work, the Dog –– because he could not guard the farm anymore, the Cat –– because he stopped hunting mice, and the Rooster -–– because he did not crow at dawn anymore. Each of them recalls the moment when they lost a roof over their heads. At dusk, they decide to travel together and find a new home.
